2 tablespoons olive
oil
1 whole peeled clove garlic
4 slices white bread cut into ¾-inch
cubes
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
Heat the olive oil in
large skillet, preferably non-stick. Add
the garlic and remove when its about to
turn gold. Add the bread cubes and sauté
over low heat, stirring frequently until
the bread cubes have dried out and are
somewhat crisp, about 5 to 7 minutes.
The fresher and softer the bread, the
more tender the croutons will be. Season
with salt and pepper.
